Paulus made his debut in the top league in Finland 2006 with FC Honka at an age of 18 years old.

2009 he went to top Swedish team Kalmar FF and made himself a name in Allsvenskan. He had four great years in Kalmar and 2013 he signed with Polish top team Lech Poznan where he won the Polish Championship 2014/15 and the Polish Cup title 2015 and 2016.

From 1/1 2017 Arajuuri will join the Danish top team Bröndby IF. Paulus is the captain of the Finnish national team and made so far 20 caps.
